Pardevalles Gamonal is a red wine produced by Viñedos y Bodega Pardevalles in Valdevimbre, D.O. Tierra de León.

In 1949, Rafael Alonso founded Viñedos y Bodega Pardevalles with the aim of producing wines that reflected the character and the identity of the place where they come from, with utmost respect for the terroir and the indigenous grape varieties, gathering tradition, innovation and good work. They always choose local varieties, Prieto Picudo and Albarín Blanco.

The winery has 38 hectares of their own vineyard, planted on quaternary soils with a lot of boulders. To produce their wines, they have a cave that is over 300 years old where we can find the stock of barrels.

Pardevalles Gamonal is a wine made from 100% Prieto Picudo, from the farm El Gamonal. Grapes are manually harvested and placed in 15 boxes. Once they arrive at the winery, they go through skin-contact maceration for 4 days. They ferment in truncated cone-shaped stainless steel deposits with a capacity of 150 hectolitres at a constant temperature of 26º C. Fermentation and maceration with the skins last between 14 and 18 days. It is aged for 12 months in 225-litre French and American oak barrels, located in an underground winery of more than 300 years.

It is a fantastic example of the potential of wines made from Prieto Picudo.
